On Nov. 6, 2025, BVR and the ASA hosted a pivotal webinar, “AI Professional Standards: Our Valuation Provider Organizations Weigh In.” The discussion, moderated by Rod Burkert, featured a critical panel: Ron Seigneur (AICPA), Pat Rafanelli (NACVA), C. Zachary Meyers (ASB), and Teresa Zeidler (ASA). The core question for this group of leaders was not whether to use AI, but how to use it responsibly and defensibly under existing rules.
The unanimous answer was clear: AI is an amazing tool that enhances efficiency, but it cannot and will not replace professional judgment. Crucially, the panel made clear that staying professionally defensible in the age of AI will now require deliberate, ongoing training and education.
